Intec
has been providing data acquisition and control solutions
since 1986, and started selling its renowned brand of Freedom16
microcontrollers since 1993. The most popular microcontroller
is the Freedom16-mite (a.k.a. "Steroid Stamp") offers
incredibly good value in a tiny form factor. No other micro
as small offers as much, or better value. The most powerful
is the PowerPC based SS555 (a.k.a. "Steroid Stomp")
offers an obscenity of features and power, again, in a very
small footprint.
INTEC'S
Clients
Most of Intec's clients are product developers who recognize
the benefit of an embedded controller that can be used both
as a development platform and as the final working platform.
They are also keen on focusing on their project without the
distraction, time, and cost of creating their own embedded
controller solution. Intec's microcontroller solutions have
served these clients well.
Intec's
microcontroller client list ranges from small, highly innovative
companies such as Inuktun and UST, to well known companies
such as Motorola, Hewlett Packard and GTE.
But, there
is a huge list of potential clients, who have yet to be served,
by Intec or anyone else... until now. They are the electricians,
researchers, lab technicians, municipal technologists, growers,
inventors, etc.. They cannot afford a long, expensive and
uncertain software development effort. They do not have, nor
do they want to acquire nitty-gritty microcontroller expertise.
They need to produce and deploy embedded applications tailored
to their needs quickly and easily. They know what they want.
They don't want to learn C or Assembly programming to accomplish
it. These are the people who need microCommander.

Over
the years, Intec has offered outstanding technical support.
In so doing, it became evident that the software effort related
to microcontrollers is staggering. There simply had to be
a better way of building and testing microcontroller applications.
So, in 1998, Intec started research on the "better way"
and microCommander was conceived! Intec has focused on developing
microCommander ever since.
The microCommander
that you see today is great ..but it is just the tip of the
iceberg... Control and automation will be changed forever.
